Seventy-four percent of Canadians believe that the arts enhance their quality of life. In 2010 over 13.4 million Canadians (aged 15 or older) visited Canadian museums and galleries. More than 58 million people (Canadian and international) visit Canadian museums and galleries every year. The ACI serves this enormous museum-going audience, as well as those who may not have easy access to art galleries. Like a national museum, the ACI addresses the broadest audience possible. However, unlike a museum, which relies on visitors to come to a bricks-and-mortar gallery, the ACI operates without physical or geographic limitations.
