When the Art Canada Institute was founded in 2013, the vision was simple: make Canadian art and its history accessible to twenty first-century audiences by creating a multivocal, bilingual, comprehensive web resource about the country’s visual culture—one that would allow audiences around the world to learn about Canadian art regardless of their proximity to a bricks-and-mortar museum or knowledge of the subject. Eight years later, it is astonishing and inspiring to see how ACI has grown. Our work would not be possible without the exceptional support from our donors. As an organization that does not receive government funding, ACI depends on the generosity of its benefactors, and we want to thank everyone who has donated to the institute for their incredible gifts. Together, we are changing the conversation about art in Canada. Creating virtual access to our country’s culture is more essential and relevant than ever, and the achievements of the past year will take us forward with our mission in the year to come. Read More
