The AGO and the Musée d’Orsay present “Mystical Landscapes”

Canadian artists featured alongside van Gogh and Monet

The Art Gallery of Ontario, in partnership with the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, have brought together 110 works of art from 37 artists from 14 countries across Europe, Scandinavia, and North America. Mystical Landscapes: Masterpieces from Monet, Van Gogh and more positions the work of renowned artists Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet alongside Canadian artists Jock Macdonald, Emily Carr and Tom Thomson. From the pastoral to the sublime, Impressionism to Symbolism, the exhibit explores the varied tradition of the landscape.

 

Mystical Landscapes opened October 22 and runs until February 12, 2017, curated by Katharine Lochnan of the AGO, Ronald Nasgaard, author of Yves Gaucher: Life & Work and Bogomila Welsh-Ovcharov, Guy Cogeval and Isabelle Morin Loutrel of the Musée d’Orsay.
