Lawren Harris finds his dream patron in comedian Steve Martin
The future ACI subject may finally break into America—with a little help from a wild and crazy guy
Earlier this year, ACI founder Sara Angel chatted with Steve Martin (yes, that one) about his newest love: the work of Canadian painter Lawren Harris. Over the next three years, Harris will be the star of three separate exhibitions—one of them curated by Martin himself—that will introduce the Group of Seven to new audiences on both sides of the border. For his entire career, Harris dreamed of breaking through to the American art market with little success. Now, over 50 years after his death, that dream may finally come true. Read Sara Angel’s profile on the two artistic legends here.
