Canadian art exhibits at Sotheby’s Upper East Side pop-up show
The works of Town, Tousignant, and other future ACI book subjects are in demand south of the border
Who says people don’t buy Canadian art? Just this year, Sotheby’s held a four-week “selling exhibition” on New York’s Upper East Side to capitalize on the growing demand for Canadian works. The frenzy featured ACI favourites Jean-Paul Riopelle, Claude Tousignant, Harold Town, and Charles Gagnon. The Globe article on the exhibition (read it here) also features Roald Nasgaard, author of the ACI’s forthcoming free online art book Yves Gaucher: Life and Work by Roald Nasgaard.
