Jan Wade created this wall collage out of some of the historical images she has amassed and used over the last decades. She has been collecting and working with old images since the 1980s, applying them in different ways over the years. For example, while working at an office job during that period, Wade often surreptitiously decorated company letters and packages with photocopies of these graphics. She also used them on her own personal correspondence as mail art. Wade continues to employ these archival images in her signature do-it-yourself manner, in both her professional and personal life, affixing them to correspondence and documents and as artwork labels.
