Polish-born Gershon Iskowitz (1920 or 1921–1988) survived the Holocaust by creating drawings as a means of psychological resilience. At age 28 he arrived in Toronto and in the decades to come made a name for himself as a leading abstract painter. Here, the artist reveals to us his journey and his artworks in his own words.
